College Radio Day is a national event celebrated by college and high school radio stations across the country. It is used to promote all the shows, articles, and activities that the staff have to offer, and also to promote students in a positive way.
This also helps the staff of the radio station help others understand what they do and the importance of their job and how they contribute to the radio station’s needs.
The first College Radio Day was celebrated October 11, 2011 and is now celebrated in the first week of October of every year.
On October 4, 2019, Northwestern State University joined the tradition of College Radio Day. Many familiar faces participated in this day, including University president Dr. Chris Maggio himself.
The staff of KNWD worked hard as the day approached. From social media to promotion to creating radio liners to play during breaks, everyone played on staff played a role in making sure this important day was an absolute success.
