The hostless and 71st Primetime Emmy Awards aired on Sunday. It featured a lot of non-surprises in main categories (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and “Game of Thrones” won big once again), but also some groundbreaking moments, such as Billy Porter becoming the first openly gay man to win an Emmy for best lead actor in a drama for the hit series “Pose”, as well as “RuPaul’s Drag Race” maintaining the crown for outstanding reality-competition series.

16-year-old Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg started a worldwide climate revolution last year when she organized a school strike calling out the government’s failure to act on the crisis facing our planet. This year, the protest grew into further action when she and 15 other children filed a legal complaint with the United Nations against Germany, France, Brazil, Argentina and Turkey.

Jamie Spears appeared in L.A. court this past Wednesday, reigniting the #FreeBritney movement. The movement began as a joke started by Tess Barker on her podcast “Britney’s Gram” but quickly spread like wildfire following the newly emerged terms of Spears’ conservatorship.
