NSU’s theatre and dance company is taking Natchitoches back in time with their latest musical production, “The 1940’s Radio Hour.”
Set in a radio station in New York in the year 1942, the play follows the station’s band broadcasting their Christmas special. The broadcast is the last for many of the members before they leave for the army.
The show features several musical numbers, using popular songs from the time period including “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy”, “Black Magic” and many more.
The show was put on by directer Dr. Jack Wann, Musical director Dr. Grace Edgar, choreographer by Taylor Young and costume designer Sydney Ryder.
“The 1940’s Radio Hour,” began showing Apr. 17-18 and will continue Apr. 23-27 at 7:30 p.m. The final performance will be Apr. 28 at 2 p.m.
