On Thursday, KNWD threw its first ever 91.7 Kickback event at Alumni Plaza. The event featured live music and food from Shreveport’s Taqueria La Michoacana.
Valentina and Valeria Perez performed songs by Amy Winehouse and three Spanish songs. Other performers included On Point Band. “This is great, people are gathering outside of class,” Valentina Perez said. “It is a great opportunity to show the talent on campus.”
Events like this allow students to show their talents outside of the classroom and allows the student body to support these talented individuals.
Taqueria La Michoacana sold homemade tacos, burritos and more.
“The school contacted us letting us know you guys would need food provided for the event” the food truck’s Jaime Munoz said. “We sold tacos, burritos, quesadillas and if you need a soft drink we had sodas and waters available.”
The first 60 students to show up got free tacos.
